Professional Pot Light Installation

Exterior & Landscape

Pot Light Installation

A plan first, then the pot lights

Most disappointing lighting comes from the same mistake: fixtures placed by symmetry instead of by what happens in the room. Evenly spaced pot lights across a ceiling look tidy on paper and leave you working in your own shadow at the counter.

We plan lighting in layers — ambient light for the room, task light where you actually do things, and accent light for what’s worth looking at — then choose fixture positions, beam spreads, colour temperature and dimming to suit. Kitchens, living rooms, basements, bathrooms, stairs, home offices and whole-home renovations.

Then we install it: recessed pot lights, undercabinet, pendants and chandeliers, vanity lighting, cove and toe-kick lighting, dimmers and smart switches — all ESA-licensed, notified and inspected.

Room by room

Where the plan makes the biggest difference.

These are the spaces where generic fixture spacing costs you the most.

Kitchens

Kitchen Lighting

Pot lights positioned forward of the cabinet face so you’re not working in shadow, plus undercabinet task lighting and pendants over islands on their own dimmer.

Living areas

Living & Family Rooms

Layered ambient and accent lighting with dimming, so the same room works for daylight, evening and television without a lighting change.

Basements

Basements & Rec Rooms

Low ceilings need shallow housings and careful spacing. We plan around ducts and beams before anyone cuts a hole.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms & Vanities

Vanity lighting at face height rather than only overhead — the difference between flattering light and shadows under the eyes.

Circulation

Stairs, Halls & Entry

Even light on every tread, three-way and multi-location switching, and entry lighting that reads as a welcome rather than an interrogation.

Control

Dimming & Smart Switches

Correctly matched LED dimmers to stop flicker and buzz, scene control, and smart switching that still works as a normal switch on the wall.

How it works

Plan, quote, install, adjust.

The planning stage is where the value is — changing a dot on a drawing is free, moving a housing in a finished ceiling is not.

Details that matter

The decisions people wish they'd made earlier

None of these cost more if they’re decided before installation — all of them cost real money afterwards.

FAQ

Common Questions

My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just keep resetting it?

A breaker trips because something on that circuit is drawing more current than it should, or because there is a fault. Resetting it repeatedly does not address the cause and is not safe as a long-term habit — have the circuit looked at.

It depends entirely on the fault. Some are found in minutes; an intermittent problem that only appears in certain conditions takes longer. We will tell you what we are seeing as we go.
