Commercial Panel & Service Upgrades

Exterior & Landscape

commercial electrical services

Most buildings outgrow their service before anyone plans for it.

New equipment goes in, a tenant expands, a kitchen gets rebuilt, chargers get added — and the service that was generous in 1998 is now full. The symptoms are familiar: no spare breaker spaces, sub-panels feeding sub-panels, nuisance tripping, and a panel directory nobody has updated in fifteen years.
We handle commercial service and panel work end to end — measured load studies, service entrance upgrades with utility coordination, new distribution and sub-panels, 347/600V systems, and dedicated circuits for new equipment. The planning matters as much as the work: the shutdown gets scoped, scheduled and communicated before anyone opens a cover.
ESA-licensed and inspected, with Red Seal certified crews under a site supervisor. We’ve been doing service work in this region since 1946, including a lot of buildings where the existing installation was somebody else’s improvisation.

What we cover

From the service entrance to the last circuit.

Capacity work planned around the way your building actually operates.

Assessment

Load Studies & Capacity Reviews

Measured demand over a representative period, so the upgrade is sized against reality rather than nameplate ratings.

Service

Service Entrance Upgrades

New and upgraded services with the utility coordination, metering changes and shutdown planning that go with them.

Distribution

Distribution & Sub-Panels

New distribution panels, sub-panels and feeders that give you spare capacity and a layout that makes sense to the next electrician.

347/600V

Three-Phase & 600V Systems

Three-phase distribution, 347/600V lighting and power systems, transformers and step-down distribution for mixed-voltage buildings.

Equipment

Dedicated Equipment Circuits

Correctly sized circuits and disconnects for new machinery, kitchen equipment, HVAC, compressors and charging infrastructure.

Protection

Surge Protection & Panel Replacement

Replacing failed, obsolete or overheating panels, and adding surge protection at the service to protect what’s downstream.

Why facility managers call us

The shutdown is the hard part. We plan it first.

Anyone can quote a panel. What you’re buying is a building that comes back up on time.

/ 01

Downtime scoped in advance

Length, timing and sequence of any outage agreed before the job starts, with contingency for what’s found behind the cover.

/ 02

Utility coordination handled

We deal with the local distribution utility on service changes, metering and connection scheduling so it doesn’t land on you.

/ 03

Documented and inspected

ESA notification and inspection as part of the work, with as-built information and updated panel directories on handover.

/ 04

Room to grow

We size for what you’ll need, not just what you have — because the second upgrade always costs more than doing it once.

How we work

A straightforward path to more capacity.

No surprises. Clear scope, clear pricing, clean handover.
01

Site Assessment & Load Study

We review the existing service, distribution and drawings, and measure real demand before recommending anything.
02

Detailed Quote

An itemized estimate with scope, exclusions, the utility’s role and a proposed shutdown window.
03

Scheduled Changeover

Work staged and phased — evenings, weekends or planned shutdowns — with temporary arrangements where critical loads can’t drop.
04

Inspect & Hand Over

ESA-inspected, panel directories relabelled, documentation provided and maintenance options discussed.

FAQ

Common Questions

My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just keep resetting it?

A breaker trips because something on that circuit is drawing more current than it should, or because there is a fault. Resetting it repeatedly does not address the cause and is not safe as a long-term habit — have the circuit looked at.

It depends entirely on the fault. Some are found in minutes; an intermittent problem that only appears in certain conditions takes longer. We will tell you what we are seeing as we go.
