Emergency Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting

24-Hour Response

Emergency Electrical Repairs

If something smells like it's burning, stop reading and call

Our emergency line is 905-634-5577 and it is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If there is smoke, flame or an active fire, call 911 first. If a power line is down on your property or the street, call your utility and stay well clear — never approach it.

For everything else — no power to the house, a panel that’s hot or scorched, a burning smell from an outlet or switch, sparks, water that’s reached an electrical panel, or a breaker that trips instantly every time it’s reset — our crews respond around the clock.

Red Seal certified electricians, ESA-licensed work, and a written explanation of what failed and what it will take to repair it properly once the immediate danger is controlled.

Call us now if

These are genuine electrical emergencies

Any of the following should be dealt with immediately, not booked in for next week.

Before we arrive

What to do in the meantime.

Only do these if it’s safe to do so. If there is smoke or flame, leave and call 911.
01

Call 911 first if there's fire

Any smoke, flame or burning material is a fire service call before it’s an electrician call. Get everyone out and phone from outside.
02

Stay away from downed lines

If a power line is down on your property or the street, keep everyone well back and call your utility immediately. Assume it’s live.
03

Shut off the main — only if safe

If you can reach the main breaker without standing in water and without touching a hot, wet or scorched panel, switch it off. If anything about it looks or smells wrong, don’t touch it — wait for us.
04

Unplug what you can, then call

If a specific appliance is the source and it’s safe to reach the plug, unplug it. Then call 905-634-5577 and describe exactly what you’re seeing and smelling.

What we handle

Common emergency calls.

The faults we’re most often called out to — and what usually sits behind them.

Power loss

Total or Partial Outage

Where it isn’t a utility outage, it’s usually a main breaker, a failed service connection or a fault on a branch circuit. We trace it and restore what’s safe to restore.

Overheating

Burning Smells & Hot Panels

Loose connections, overloaded circuits and failing breakers generate heat long before they fail. This one is never worth waiting on.

Repeat tripping

Breakers That Won't Reset

A breaker tripping instantly is doing its job — something on that circuit is faulted. Repeated resetting is not a fix and is not safe.

Water damage

Flood & Water Ingress

Water in a panel, junction box or basement circuit needs isolating and assessing before anything is re-energised.

Storm damage

Storm & Service Damage

Damaged masts, service entrances and weather heads after wind and ice — coordinated with the utility for reconnection.

Backup power

Generator Failures

Standby generators that failed to transfer or start when you needed them, plus new Generac installation so it doesn’t happen again.

FAQ

Common Questions

My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just keep resetting it?

A breaker trips because something on that circuit is drawing more current than it should, or because there is a fault. Resetting it repeatedly does not address the cause and is not safe as a long-term habit — have the circuit looked at.

It depends entirely on the fault. Some are found in minutes; an intermittent problem that only appears in certain conditions takes longer. We will tell you what we are seeing as we go.
