Office & Retail Lighting Solutions

Exterior & Landscape

commercial electrical services

Light people can work under, and merchandise that looks right.

An office and a retail floor want opposite things from lighting. Offices need even, low-glare light at desk height, because the complaints are always headaches and screen reflection. Retail needs contrast — brighter on product than on the aisle — because flat light makes everything look like a warehouse.
We handle both: layout and fixture selection, ceiling and track work, dimming and scene control, and the circuiting behind all of it. If you’re fitting out a new space we’ll work off the drawings; if you’re fixing an existing one, we’ll start with what’s actually going wrong in the room.
ESA-licensed, documented, installed by Red Seal certified crews, and scheduled around trading hours. We’ve been lighting commercial interiors in this region since 1946.

What we cover

Layout, fixtures, controls, done.

Interior lighting for offices, retail units, restaurants, clinics and professional space.

Workplace

Office & Task Lighting

Even light at desk height with glare controlled — troffers, linear pendants and pot lights laid out around the furniture plan, not the ceiling grid alone.

Retail

Display & Accent Lighting

Track, spots and shelf lighting that put contrast on product, with beam angles chosen for the fixture height you actually have.

Quality

Colour Temperature & CRI

Getting the colour right so merchandise, food and finishes look the way they should — and consistent across the whole space.

Controls

Dimming, Scenes & Sensors

Dimming, scene presets for open and close, occupancy sensors in low-use rooms and daylight control on glazed perimeters.

Ceilings

Ceiling Changes & Track

New track runs, grid changes, drywall pot light layouts and relocations when the space gets reconfigured.

Compliance

Emergency & Exit Integration

Egress lighting and exit signage designed into the layout rather than added afterwards where it looks worst.

Why businesses call us

We ask what the room is for first.

Most bad commercial lighting isn’t cheap equipment. It’s the right fixture in the wrong place.

/ 01

Designed around use

Desk positions, display fixtures, counters and sightlines drive the layout — the ceiling grid comes second.

/ 02

Glare and flicker taken seriously

Poor drivers and badly placed fixtures cause real complaints. We specify equipment that doesn’t produce them.

/ 03

Installed outside trading hours

Evening and weekend work, with site protection down, so you’re not closed and the floor is clean when you open.

/ 04

One contractor for the whole ceiling

Lighting, emergency, data drops and device work handled together instead of three trades on three schedules.

How we work

A straightforward path to a well-lit space.

Clear scope, clear pricing, clean handover.
01

Walk the Space

We look at the room in use, check existing levels, ceiling type and circuiting, and talk through what isn’t working.
02

Layout & Quote

A fixture schedule and layout with an itemized estimate, including controls, ceiling work and any circuiting changes.
03

Install

Phased around your hours with protection down, coordinated with your GC or landlord where the space is leased.
04

Commission & Hand Over

Scenes set, sensors tuned, levels confirmed, panel directories updated and documentation handed over.

FAQ

Common Questions

My breaker keeps tripping. Can I just keep resetting it?

A breaker trips because something on that circuit is drawing more current than it should, or because there is a fault. Resetting it repeatedly does not address the cause and is not safe as a long-term habit — have the circuit looked at.

It depends entirely on the fault. Some are found in minutes; an intermittent problem that only appears in certain conditions takes longer. We will tell you what we are seeing as we go.
